Website development for specialist security service and retail provider based on the Cayman Islands

I developed this website working as Senior Digital Developer at SBW Advertising. The website was designed by in-house designers under the eye of the Art Director. My task was to change flat designs into working website and add it a bit of functionality.

Project duration was 3 months. We spend a lot of time working on a sitemap and trying to effectively reduce number of ‘clicks’ to get to final product pages. We had an example on old client’s website, but it was too complicated and we were looking for something simple, where clients can find easily this, what they were looking for.

We had regular catch ups with the client to consult the progress and our ideas or to explain solutions we were suggesting to implement. As the client is based on Cayman Islands we usually had video or audio conferences.

Designs of individual pages – Level 1 , 2 and 3 according to sitemap had be transformed into kind of a patterns which I could repeat on each subpage. The trick was that each subpage was presenting different products and services with various amount of copy and images. We decided for few major layouts and strategies. Automatic systems are pages with bit different approach as the client wanted those to be outstanding.

Product pages are rich in copy and images, to make them bit more digestable I’ve added subtle animation effects and elevator button, so the viewer can be taken up the page with one click. On the longest pages I added submenus anchored to relevant product’s sections.

The challenge was work on mobile version. I didn’t have designs for those and working on mobile and tablet editions I used my knowledge and experience to recreate similar user experience striping website form nice layout solutions, playing with typography hierarchy as a depiction of the page structure.
